The conditions to present a horse to a TQB (Qualified Breedingstock Tribunal) are quite strict. The horses must have passed a veterinary  and radiological examination, to prove that they have the requirements to breed (ultrasound for the mares and semen tests for the stallions) and are free of OCD (digital xrays that have to be sent to the University of Cordoba). Once they have passed this test they need to go to the Tribunal where three judges of morphology will evaluate all their body regions and movements, and for the stallions they will need to do a ridden test that will be evaluate by a dressage judge. It is very hard to pass, the quality of the horses present is very high and only a few of them should pass! So it is a very important step for a horse to have the “Calificado” diploma!

In Yeguada Aimaran we are very proud of the quality of our horses and mares, around 10% of them have achieved the “Calificadodiploma. This fact is very important taking into account that the Calificado population in the PRE horses is around the 1%.

One of the last mares to do has been Trova, that got in the Tribunal of Córdoba, which is now a “Reproductora Calificada”, so she is a “Qualified Breedingstock”. We are very satisfied with her, she is not only a fantastic mare herself, she is also producing top quality babies and is a fantastic mother. So right now we have in our stud 3 Calificado stallions and 6 Calificado mares.
